Application for Teaching/Administrator Positions

Clearances
Effective April 1, 2007, all individuals applying for positions in Pennsylvania public schools must obtain a federal criminal history background check, in addition to Pennsylvania criminal record and child abuse clearances. Please note that when applying for clearances, a fee is asked for by the specific law agency. Applications for these clearances are available online or in the Central Office located at 343 Ridgemont Drive, Midland, PA 1505. Applicants are responsible for these fees.

Substitute Rates
2008-2009 Substitute Wages:

Substitute Teacher or School Nurse $70.00/day for first 30 consecutive days, $100.00/day after the 30th consecutive day in the same position
Substitute Support Personnel/Health Room Nurse $7.25/hour

Student Teaching, Internships, and Field Experiences
Field experiences or student teaching assignments should be coordinated between the college/university and the Western Beaver County School District. Undergraduate students should direct the college/university representative to contact the building principal. (Student teaching arrangements will only be accepted if requested by a college representative.) Internships should be requested through the Superintendent's Office and coordinated with the administrator in charge of the area of interest. In all cases, requests must be accompanied by a resume, details/ requirements of the requested experience, and proper clearances.
