Signups for golf will be held in the library beginning Monday, November 24.
Could I have your attention please? Smile if you can't wait for Thanksgiving break. 5 days off from school, visiting famioly and friends, Christmas shopping, not to mention the turkey and stuffing. unfortunately, some of your friends and or classmates won't be having anything special this Thanksgiving unless you can lend a helping hand. Please bring in qany non-perishable food you can spare to help your friends have a great Thanksgiving as well.
Together we can make a difference- students in grades 9-12: signups for BAAD- Beavers Against Alcohol & Drugs- are being held outside room 214.
Attention all students grades 7-12: intramural bowling signups have now begun. Details for this season and registration forms are available from Ms. Stehle or Mr. Zippel. Team forms and registration money need to be turned in as soon as possible- only the first 8 teams with all registration money in for their team will be accepted. Bowling will begin December 3.
Any student in grade 10 or 11 who is interested in participating in several programs offered from the governor's school should see Ms. Hawthorne for registration information. Deadlines are in February. The governor's school is an excellent way to prepare for college, collect scholarship information and enhance leadership skills. Possible areas include: health care, education, global etrepreneurship and theater arets.
Yearbook order forms have been sent home! Make sure you will have a copy and order today. See Mrs. Crognale if you have any questions.
The River City Brass Band will be performing "And the Angels Sing" December 10, 2008 at 7:30 P.M. at Beaver High School. The Western Beaver Recorder Ensemble will perform at 7:30 P.M. Members of the Western Beaver Chorus will perform with the Beaver County Chorus during the concert. Tickets are at a discount if purchased in advance through the school. Adults are $12, students are $5 and children under 12 are free with puchase of an adult ticket. You must purchase your tickets prior to the performance from the school in order to receive the discount. If you are interested in tickets please contact Mrs. Capehart, Mr. Hixon or Julie Modany.
Propaganda practice will be held Monday through Thursday during "A" lunch in Ms. Hawthorne's room. Propaganda competition will be January 22.
*MEETINGS*
Attention cheerleaders: please turn in your raincoats to Mrs. Metzler in room 101.
Seniors are reminded to have baby pictures and senior pictures in to the year book staff as soon as possible and no later the December 1st.
Students are also reminded to share old elementary pictures with the yearbook.
*LOOKING AHEAD-FACULTY MEMBERS*
Honor roll party will be period 7 on Friday, November 21.
Progress reports are due Dec 5 at 7:30 A.M.
Students who wan to attend the Vo-Tech field trip must return the permission slip by Tuesday, December 2 at noon. Only 43 students can attend. Placement will be on a first-come first-served basis.
*SPORTS*
Boys and girls varsity teams will begin practice at 2:30 P.M. 7th and 8th grade boys will practice from 5 P.M. to 6:30 P.M. All physical forms must be returned to begin practice. If you have any questions, see Mr. Borza or any of the coaches.
*HAPPENINGS*
ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS AGE 16 AND OLDER!!!!! There will be a Blood Drive on Friday November 21st, 2008 from 8-1 in the girl's gym, sign up now to hold your spot. There is a sign up sheet outside the office window. This Blood Drive benefits the American Red Cross, and is sponsored by Chelsea Grigg for her senior project. If you have any questions please ask Chelsea.
Any gifted student who would be interested in performing for the Center for Performing Arts at Beaver Falls High School in December should see Ms. Hawthorne for details and an event schedule. A sign-up sheet will be located outside of her door.
Any student interested in participating in the 15th annual Shakespeare Monologue and scene contest should see Ms. Hawthorne for details. The contact takes place in March and contestants will receive a free T-shirt as well as 2 gree theater tickets. Any stundent in grades 7-12 is encouraged to participate.
There will be an SOS meeting tomorrow morning in the library. See Miss Kuzma if you cannot attend.
