The mission of the Western Beaver Service-Learning program is to promote personal
and academic growth through hands-on service opportunities to improve student achievement,
community development, and to encourage school pride.
Service-Learning Goals
Motivate students and the district to work together to identify and fulfill unmet needs for the
benfit of our school and community.
Raise the level of awareness.
Brainstorm ways to create positive changes.
Implement curriculum through hands-on projects.
Foster civic responsibility.
Build an understanding for individuals who encounter challenges in everyday life situations.
Develop leadership roles by becoming mentors for younger students to encourage academic and personal growth.
Gain opportunities to use newly acquired academic knowledge through direct service beyond the classroom.
Create opportunities for students to develop the skills that can transfer into adult life.
