The students in BAAD invite you and your family to join them for "BAAD's Nightmare Trail: A Haunted Hallways Experience" on Saturday, October 21st, from 7:30 PM - 10:00 PM here at the High School (entrance will be the auditorium doors). Prepare to be terrified like never before as you navigate the trail as it winds through the hallways and around the grounds outside. Cost is $5 (children 3 and under free). Come join us for an evening filled with bone-chilling scares, ghouls, and spine-tingling thrills. There will also be children’s activities for those who do not want to participate in the trail.

Please join us for more in-depth look at the fastest growing High School Sport in the nation. Western Beaver had 30 Shooters last year, with 13 attending state championships and 3 Making it to Nationals in Mason, MI. We will go over basic information to see if it is a right fit for your child and family along with meeting the coaching staff. If you are a new shooter on the team it is required to attend. If you had a sibling on the team last year and this is your first year, you are not required to attend this meeting. The first full team meeting will be November 5th at 6pm. Due to unforeseen circumstances, this Friday night's football game vs New Brighton will now be played at Beaver HS at 7pm.
This is the third year of the district's one-to-one technology policy, which requires all students to have a device other than a cellphone. $75 is due for a single device, and $35 for any additional device. Payment is due now in the office. Cash or check only.
If you are unsure of how much money you owe, please contact the high school office to confirm. Devices may be revoked from students that fail to make payment in a timely manner.
Open House is Thursday, September 14, from 6:00 to 7:30PM! Students and parents will follow an abbreviated bell schedule, giving you the opportunity to follow your child's schedule and meet the teachers!

On Tuesday, August 29th, Western Beaver Jr/ Sr High will be closed to the public to conduct an active shooter training with staff members. This training will begin at 8 AM and last through noon.
During this time, several emergency responders will be on campus. Please do not be alarmed if you hear sirens and/or gunfire. Again, this is a drill! In order to maintain order during this training, the district respectfully asks that you do not come to the school between these hours or even call the office.
The district appreciates your cooperation in this matter as we conduct necessary drills to properly train our employees in the event of an emergency.
6th Grade Orientation will be held August 23 at 10am in the high school cafeteria. A mailing will be sent home in the upcoming weeks with details of the orientation, including an RSVP.
Student schedules will be available in Skyward on July 31. All students will have until August 11 to make any/all necessary schedule changes. Students will not be permitted to make any changes after August 11. These changes include 2nd semester classes.

Final report cards for grades 6-11 and transcripts for grades 9-11 are now available in the Skyward Parent Portal!
District-issued Chromebooks can be kept by students throughout the summer. Your annual installment will be due upon the start of next school year. Families failing to make payments will be required to return Chromebooks and chargers.
Student debt reminders will also be mailed next week. With any questions, please contact the high school office.

Sports physicals will be held Monday, June 5, at the high school beginning at 9:30am. These physicals are free of charge and will only be offered to those students participating in fall sports. Students that did not submit paperwork ahead of time will not be eligible to receive a physical.
An alternate date will be scheduled later in the school year to accommodate winter and spring sports participants.

Western Beaver is partnering with The Asservo Project to offer a presentation on human trafficking and dangers of social media to all students, grades 6-12. There will be two separate presentations: one for the Junior High and one for the Senior High.
These presentations will occur on Monday, April 17th. A letter is available on the website that explains the presentation in more detail. Please contact the high school office with any questions or concerns.
The Western Beaver Youth Ambassadors are sponsoring a dodgeball tournament for students in grades 6-12. All teams must consist of 4 boys and 4 girls. Games will be played Thursday, May 11th beginning at 2:45pm. All parents and family members are welcome to attend, admission is $3.Â
The championship game will be played during school on Friday, May 12th.  All team registration forms and money are due this Friday, April 14th. The cost to participate is $13 per student, which includes a t-shirt. All proceeds benefit the YAP scholarship fund. Â

East Palestine Justice Team comes to BLACKHAWK HS TONIGHT 7 pm
At 7:00 PM tonight, the high school auditorium will host a town hall meeting for residents affected by the February 3 Norfolk Southern train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio. Powerhouse attorney, Mikal Watts, will present an educational seminar for members of the community that will include information on the derailment, the legal rights of those affected and allow for a question-and-answer session with lawyers representing nearly 200 members of the community in litigation against Norfolk Southern.
